Meet Natalie Tenenbaum
A Juilliard-trained pianist, composer, arranger and music director whose work connects technique, improvisation and a wide-ranging musical language.
Natalie has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Apollo Theater, Madison Square Garden and Vienna’s Musikverein. Her work spans concert stages, Broadway, recording studios and original music.
She has created arrangements for Lang Lang and Itzhak Perlman, with additional credits including Pentatonix, The Great Gatsby on Broadway, American Utopia and vocal arrangements for Mean Girls.
She gives masterclasses at universities and conservatories around the world and is regularly invited to serve on the juries of piano competitions.

Is this program right for beginners?
No. The Complete Piano Method is designed for intermediate and advanced pianists who already have a foundation at the keyboard. You don't need to be an expert in improvisation or arranging—that's exactly what you'll develop—but this is not a beginner's first piano course.
Is this for me if I’m not a professional musician?
Yes. The important starting point is your playing level and interest in developing your musicianship. Serious amateur pianists can work toward the same creative goals alongside working musicians.
What if I have strong classical technique but can’t improvise?
That is one of the gaps the method addresses. You’ll work on connecting your existing control to melodic, harmonic and rhythmic choices without relying on a fully written score.
What if I don’t want to create content?
You don’t need to become a social-media creator. Recording helps you hear your progress and finish musical work. You can keep those recordings private, use them in a portfolio, or share them when you want to.
How much practice time do I need?
Plan to make regular time at the piano and time for the assignments. The amount depends on your starting point and project. Short, focused sessions can support progress; more ambitious arrangements need additional work. You can start when you choose, set your own pace, and use the optional live calls when they fit your schedule.
Do I need recording equipment or software?
You need access to a piano or keyboard and a way to watch the lessons. Joining live online calls is optional. A phone can be a practical starting point for documenting your playing. The Ableton live-looping training requires Ableton Live and a compatible setup; software and equipment purchases are separate.
What styles of music does this work with?
The course explores technique, harmony, rhythm, listening and arranging—skills you can bring into classical, jazz, pop and your own original music. Your repertoire and projects give you a place to apply them.
What if I already have a private teacher?
You can use TCPM alongside private lessons. It adds a connected path through creative skills and projects that you can also discuss with your teacher.
Do I have to attend the live calls?
You can complete the $1,997 curriculum on your own timeline. Weekly group Q&A calls with Natalie are included, along with workshops and feedback opportunities. Watch available replays if you cannot attend live.
How long do I keep access?
You keep lifetime access to the recorded Core Curriculum, including future additions, and the recorded advanced bonus courses. Optional live calls, feedback, community, workshops and app support are available under the program’s applicable support-access terms.
Is an NYC studio recording included with Standard?
No. NYC recording sessions are a potential experience for selected Inner Circle members only, subject to scheduling, studio capacity, and individual confirmation. A studio place is never guaranteed by joining. Travel and accommodation are not included.
What if I join and realize it’s not for me?
There are two separate refund options, both measured from your individual program start date. Within 7 days: request a refund in writing for any reason, without assignments or call attendance.
