You can be an accomplished pianist
and still feel stuck.
Maybe youâve been playing for years. You understand theory and harmony. You may already perform, teach, compose or work professionally.
And yet, you sit down to play and your hands keep reaching for the same familiar shapes, voicings and patterns.
You hear an arrangement you love and think, âI wish I could do that.â
You hear something in your head, but you canât quite find it on the keys.
You know youâre capable of moreâbut youâre not always sure what to practice to actually get there.
So you keep practicing. You learn another piece. Try another exercise. Watch another lesson.
And you get better at the things you already know how to do, but the music that feels just outside your reach stays outside your reach.
Your current musical vocabulary doesnât have to define the rest of your playing.
You need to expand what your hands, ears and mind can draw fromâso when you hear something you want to play, arrange or create, you have more ways to get there.
âItâs just so much easier to actually then take action.â

The missing connection is between
what you know and what you can make.
Technique, theory, improvisation and arranging can all be valuable on their own. But when you learn them separately, youâre left to figure out how they become music together.
When the skills stay separate
You work on scales. Learn a voicing. Watch an improvisation lesson. Then sit down to arrange a songâand wonder where any of it fits.
When the skills feed each other
The movement you practice helps you voice a phrase. The sound you transcribe gives you an idea. That idea becomes an improvisation, an arrangement, and a performance you can record.
The question changes from âWhat else should I learn?â to âHow can I use what Iâm learning in the music I want to play?â

I had to rebuild my playing.
Then expand what was possible.
Hi, Iâm Natalie Tenenbaum, a Juilliard-trained pianist, composer and arranger. Before my career took me to concert stages, Broadway and recording studios, tendinitis in both arms left me unable to play for a year and a half.
I had to start again from scratch. Through a unique technical methodology, I rebuilt the way I approached the instrumentâand within a year of starting over, I was accepted to Juilliard on a scholarship.
But as a classical pianist, I wanted more than the ability to play what was on the page. I wanted to expand my harmonic language, develop my ears, and become fluent enough to find an idea at the piano, improvise, arrange and adapt.
I developed focused practice approaches that connected technique, listening and musical exploration. That work helped me move between Carnegie Hall, Broadway, jazz festivals, recording studios and original musicâand create arrangements for artists including Lang Lang.
Each of those settings asked something different of me. I needed to understand why a piece of music worked, hear possibilities beyond the familiar, and turn an idea in my head into something I could actually perform.
Across all of it, I kept coming back to the same three things:
Reliable technique. A broad musical vocabulary. And the ability to turn an idea into finished music.
Thatâs the way I approach teaching, too. Becoming a more complete pianist is about being able to use what you know to make the music you want to makeâwith a clear, practical way to develop the skills that get you there.
And thatâs what became The Complete Piano Method.
Introducing The Complete Piano Method.
(TCPM)
The Complete Piano Method develops six areas of your musicianship that work together to help you hear more possibilities, find them on the keys, make them your own, and turn them into finished music.

Technique â freedom at the instrument
Build control and efficient movement, then put that control into phrasing, voicing and the sound you want.
Improvisation â choices of your own
Explore melody, harmony and rhythm so you can respond to an idea instead of needing every note written down.
Transcription â a richer musical language
Listen closely to music you love, work out what makes it compelling, and bring those sounds into your own playing.
Arranging â an idea becomes a piece
Combine those choices into a complete arrangement: harmony, texture, structure and a voice that feels like yours.
Performance â music you can share
Prepare the work to be heard. Practice carrying your musical choices into a complete, expressive performance.
Recording & creation â something finished
Capture what youâve built. Learn a repeatable way to finish, record and shareâor keep a record of your own progress.
You revisit the connections as the work develops. A technical obstacle in an arrangement becomes something specific to practice. A sound you hear becomes something to explore. Your practice has a musical reason.
âThought this was going to be like a piano technique class⊠But what this turned out to be was this whole growth as an artist.â
âI just felt incredibly comfortable and confident in that moment. Just wow⊠how far Iâve come.â
From TCPM student interviews · excerpts shortened for readability.
You sit down knowing
what you want to makeâand how to begin.
You know what youâre practicing and why. You can develop an idea instead of abandoning it. Youâve worked toward an arrangement thatâs yours, and a recording that lets you hear how far youâve come.
Hear more possibility
Your technique serves the music. You have more choices in harmony, texture and phrasingâand a way to keep exploring them.
Finish something that matters to you
Take the song, arrangement or project youâve kept putting off and work through it with a clearer plan and feedback along the way.
Feel more ready to be heard
Build confidence through preparation, playing for others, and recording the work. Sharing becomes a step you can practice, rather than a test you keep postponing.

Questions pianists ask.
Am I advanced enough for this?
TCPM is designed for intermediate to advanced pianists who can already play music at the piano and want to expand their technique and creative freedom. You donât need to be confident in improvisation or arrangingâthatâs part of what youâll study. If youâre a complete beginner, this isnât the starting point.
Is this for me if Iâm not a professional musician?
Yes. The important starting point is your playing level and interest in developing your musicianship. Serious amateur pianists can work toward the same creative goals alongside working musicians.
What if I have strong classical technique but canât improvise?
That is one of the gaps the method addresses. Youâll work on connecting your existing control to melodic, harmonic and rhythmic choices without relying on a fully written score.
What if I donât want to create content?
You donât need to become a social-media creator. Recording helps you hear your progress and finish musical work. You can keep those recordings private, use them in a portfolio, or share them when you want to.
How much practice time do I need?
Plan to make regular time at the piano and time for the assignments. The amount depends on your starting point and project. Short, focused sessions can support progress; more ambitious arrangements need additional work. Bring your schedule to the calls so you can choose realistic next steps.
Do I need recording equipment or software?
You need access to a piano or keyboard and a way to watch the lessons and join online calls. A phone can be a practical starting point for documenting your playing. The Ableton live-looping training requires Ableton Live and a compatible setup; software and equipment purchases are separate.
What styles of music does this work with?
The course explores technique, harmony, rhythm, listening and arrangingâskills you can bring into classical, jazz, pop and your own original music. Your repertoire and projects give you a place to apply them.
What if I already have a private teacher?
You can use TCPM alongside private lessons. It adds a connected path through creative skills and projects that you can also discuss with your teacher.
What if I miss a live call?
Live online group sessions are recorded so you can catch up. You can keep working through the recorded curriculum on your own schedule.
How long do I keep access?
Weekly group calls, curriculum assignment feedback and app support run during the 14-week program. Your exclusive community access, community feedback, Q&As and special live workshops continue for six months from program access at launch. You keep lifetime access to the recorded Core Curriculum, including all future additions to it, and the recorded advanced bonus courses.
What if I join and realize itâs not for me?
Send a written refund request through your program support contact within 7 calendar days of enrollment. The refund is unconditional: no assignment submissions or attendance requirements. Payments made are refunded and remaining installments canceled.
Your next 14 weeks at the piano could sound very different.
Instead of simply accumulating more practice hours, spend 14 focused weeks expanding what you can actually do at the pianoâwith new sounds under your fingers, a broader musical vocabulary, arrangements youâve made your own, and music youâve taken all the way to performance. The Complete Piano Method gives you the path, with weekly group calls, feedback on your submissions and an exclusive community doing the work alongside you. Reserve your place before the November 1 launch and save $500.
