THE TWO BREAKTHROUGHS BEHIND THE METHOD

First, I found freedom in my hands.
Then, freedom in my music.

Natalie Tenenbaum at the piano in Carnegie Hall

Tendinitis once kept me from playing for a year and a half. Rebuilding my technique taught me to replace force with efficiency, control and freedom.

That transformation took me from being unable to perform to playing Liszt études and auditioning for Juilliard.

Natalie Tenenbaum and Lang Lang in the recording studio

But technical mastery wasn’t enough. I wanted to improvise, arrange and create the music I heard in my head.

Freedom isn’t a gift. It’s a skill you can develop.

I built that freedom through listening, transcription, harmony, improvisation and arranging, turning musical ideas into something I could actually play.

THE METHOD · TECHNICAL MASTERY MEETS MUSICAL FREEDOM

Greater control.
More freedom to make music.

One connected 14-week path: release unnecessary tension, build control, strengthen your ear, explore harmony and improvisation, and create music of your own.

01Learn

See and hear a concept demonstrated.

02Practice

Bring it onto the keys with focused work.

03Apply

Use it in a transcription or arrangement.

04Get feedback

Bring questions and work to group guidance and project feedback opportunities.

The aim: more reliable technique, greater physical ease and more musical choices, applied to your repertoire and creative projects. Develop an arrangement of your own and work toward performing and recording it. Progress depends on your starting point, practice and participation; the recorded lessons remain available after the 14 weeks.

Technique → control without unnecessary effort

Explore efficient movement, finger independence, coordination and the release of unnecessary tension. Apply the technical work to challenging passages, voicing and the sound you want.

Improvisation → choices of your own

Explore melody, harmony and rhythm so you can respond to an idea instead of needing every note written down.

Transcription → a richer musical language

Listen closely to music you love, work out what makes it compelling, and bring those sounds into your own playing.

Arranging → an idea becomes a piece

Bring your technique, listening, improvisation and arranging together into one musical project.

Performance → music you can share

Prepare the work to be heard. Practice carrying your musical choices into a complete, expressive performance.

Recording & creation → something finished

Capture what you’ve built. Learn a repeatable way to finish, record and share—or keep a record of your own progress.

A technical obstacle in your repertoire gives you something specific to investigate. A sound you hear gives you something to explore. You learn, practice, apply and use feedback to refine both how you play and the music you make.

A different kind of investment in your artistry.

I am doing this on purpose.

Exceptional musical training can take years and a substantial investment. I built TCPM to bring the essential tools into one connected method.

Technique, ear training, improvisation and arranging belong together. Progress in one should strengthen the others.

You get a clear 14-week journey, guidance as you apply it, and lifetime access to the recorded curriculum.

WORLD-CLASS TRAINING. A DIFFERENT KIND OF INVESTMENT.

An exceptional musical education. Without years of conservatory tuition.

Traditional universities and conservatories can involve years of tuition costing tens of thousands of dollars. Those programs can be valuable, but they are not always designed to connect technique, transcription, improvisation, arranging, performance and recording into one focused, practical experience for the pianist you are today.

For $1,997, you can study my Juilliard-informed methodology through one connected 14-week program, with creative projects, opportunities for feedback, live group guidance and lifetime access to the recorded lessons. A fraction of the tuition commitment of a multi-year degree, focused on the musical skills you want to develop now.

TCPM is a specialized independent program, not a university degree or conservatory credential.

ADDITIONAL PERFORMANCE-BASED PROTECTION

PLUS: 30-day do-the-work money-back guarantee (conditional)

An additional, separate 30-day refund option. If you actively participate and still find the program is not the right fit, you may request a refund within 30 calendar days of your individual program start date.

BEFORE YOU JOIN

Questions pianists ask.

Can I use a payment plan?
Yes. Eligible buyers can choose PayPal Pay Later, Klarna, or Afterpay when those options are displayed at checkout. The payment provider determines available terms and approval; this does not change the $1,997 program price.
Is this program right for beginners?

No. The Complete Piano Method is designed for intermediate and advanced pianists who already have a foundation at the keyboard. You don't need to be an expert in improvisation or arranging—that's exactly what you'll develop—but this is not a beginner's first piano course.

Is this for me if I’m not a professional musician?

Yes. The important starting point is your playing level and interest in developing your musicianship. Serious amateur pianists can work toward the same creative goals alongside working musicians.

What if I have strong classical technique but can’t improvise?

That is one of the gaps the method addresses. You’ll work on connecting your existing control to melodic, harmonic and rhythmic choices without relying on a fully written score.

What if I don’t want to create content?

You don’t need to become a social-media creator. Recording helps you hear your progress and finish musical work. You can keep those recordings private, use them in a portfolio, or share them when you want to.

How much practice time do I need?

Plan to make regular time at the piano and time for the assignments. The amount depends on your starting point and project. Short, focused sessions can support progress; more ambitious arrangements need additional work. You can start when you choose, set your own pace, and use the optional live calls when they fit your schedule.

Do I need recording equipment or software?

You need access to a piano or keyboard and a way to watch the lessons. Joining live online calls is optional. A phone can be a practical starting point for documenting your playing. The Ableton live-looping training requires Ableton Live and a compatible setup; software and equipment purchases are separate.

What styles of music does this work with?

The course explores technique, harmony, rhythm, listening and arranging—skills you can bring into classical, jazz, pop and your own original music. Your repertoire and projects give you a place to apply them.

What if I already have a private teacher?

You can use TCPM alongside private lessons. It adds a connected path through creative skills and projects that you can also discuss with your teacher.

Do I have to attend the live calls?

You can complete the $1,997 curriculum on your own timeline. Weekly group Q&A calls with Natalie are included, along with workshops and feedback opportunities. Watch available replays if you cannot attend live.

How long do I keep access?

You keep lifetime access to the recorded Core Curriculum, including future additions, and the recorded advanced bonus courses. Optional live calls, feedback, community, workshops and app support are available under the program’s applicable support-access terms.

Is an NYC studio recording included with Standard?

No. NYC recording sessions are a potential experience for selected Inner Circle members only, subject to scheduling, studio capacity, and individual confirmation. A studio place is never guaranteed by joining. Travel and accommodation are not included.

What if I join and realize it’s not for me?

There are two separate refund options, both measured from your individual program start date. Within 7 days: request a refund in writing for any reason, without assignments or call attendance. Within 30 days: a conditional do-the-work refund is available if you complete the lessons and assignments released during that period, provide evidence of your work, and attend the weekly Q&A calls offered (or approved make-ups). Submit your written request and evidence by day 30. Live calls are otherwise optional. See the full guarantee terms below.
